Long-time leader in 5G wireless connectivity to bring 100% fiber internet to a growing customer base.
Unlike its 5G Home Internet service, T-Fiber by T-Mobile runs on dedicated fiber-optic lines, offering equally fast upload and download speeds, ultra-low latency, and more dependable uptime for power users.
T-Mobile Fiber is currently available across select states, including Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Ohio, and Virginia.
Call to Check AvailabilityT-Mobile offers a competitive price for its near-symmetrical speeds that most cable providers in its footprint can’t match.
When you factor in the Fiber AutoPay discount, First Month Free and the $100 virtual prepaid gift card, it becomes an even better deal. Free installation and included equipment further add value, although many fiber providers now offer similar perks.
Speed-wise, T-Mobile fiber-optic internet has a simpler range. Starting at 300 Mbps (previously 500 Mbps), the provider follows the market standard, though more tier options might have given customers greater flexibility.
Availability is limited, and performance may not be the same everywhere, as the provider relies on acquired infrastructure. But besides that, if T-Mobile Fiber is available in your area, it’s a solid option worth considering.
At TVInternetUSA, we follow a user-first approach to provide you with the most accurate, accessible, and comprehensive information.
Our team of experts evaluates Internet Service Providers (ISPs) on a range of factors to help you find the best internet options that match your lifestyle and connectivity needs.
One provider, two completely different technologies, the same reliable support.
T-Mobile breaks new ground with blazing-fast fiber, while continuing to connect rural America with its plug-and-play 5G Home Internet service.

Like a typical fiber connection, T-Mobile Fiber FTTP requires professional installation and a few pieces of equipment to get started. The good part is that most of the equipment and setup are available at no extra cost, depending on your plan. Here’s what you get:
T-Mobile includes a Wi-Fi 6 gateway even with its entry-level 300 Mbps plan. An Optical Network Terminal (ONT), which converts the fiber signal for home use, is also provided.
Customers on 1 Gig and 2 Gig plans may qualify for mesh Wi-Fi extenders to improve coverage in larger homes or supercharge areas with weak signal.
T-Mobile currently covers professional installation in its fiber service cost. A technician handles the fiber setup, installs the equipment, tests performance, and can also install mesh extenders if needed to optimize coverage throughout the home.
T-Mobile Fiber was launched recently but is already competing with some of the biggest players in the fiber market.
There are areas where it performs very well, offering stronger starter value than most, and other areas where competitors still have the edge, i.e., higher-tier speeds and long-term price guarantees.
Here’s a simple 1:1 comparison chart:
| Provider | Starting Price | Max Speed | Price Guarantee | Data Cap | Contract | Installation Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| T-Mobile Fiber | ~$45/mo | Up to 2 Gig | No | Unlimited | No | Free |
| AT&T Fiber | ~$40/mo | Up to 5 Gig | No | Unlimited | No | Usually waived online |
| Verizon Fios | ~$34.99/mo | Up to 2 Gig | Up to 5 Years (select plans) |
Unlimited | No | Usually free online and with high-tier speeds |
| Google Fiber | ~$70/mo | Up to 8 Gig | Flat-rate | Unlimited | No | Free |

“They have been great. They also gave me a static IP and set the ONT into bridge mode so I can use my own router. Solid customer service who seems to be going above and beyond.”

“I've had their fiber for 5 months, and when it goes out it's been a 2 week wait for a technician. Currently out again and they won't be here until the middle of next month.”

“So far the service sucks for me. Their app says the modem is hitting over 2 gig up and almost 2 gig down. The mesh.is hitting almost 500 up and 4-450 down. My house is single story and under 1500 sqft. My Xbox says its 150 up and 90 down at best.”
T-Mobile Fiber is a true 100% fiber-optic internet service built through acquisitions and partnerships with existing fiber providers like Lumos and Metronet. The confusion mainly comes from the branding, since both T-Mobile Fiber and T-Mobile 5G Home Internet are marketed under the same company name. Unlike 5G Home Internet, fiber offers better reliability, symmetrical speeds, and lower latency.
Yes, you can bundle T-Mobile Fiber with eligible T-Mobile wireless plans and receive additional discounts in some cases.
Yes. Most users state that their price-lock guarantees have been honored for many years. Some users have also reported pricing issues, although a few later mentioned receiving refunds or billing corrections. Check Reddit thread: T-Mobile Is Already Changing Their T-Fiber Plans
While T-Mobile Fiber includes a router and even mesh extenders with some higher-tier plans, many users still choose to use their own networking equipment. Depending on your setup, you may need to adjust a few settings or configure bridge/bypass options for compatibility.
T-Mobile Fiber offers symmetrical speeds up to 2 Gbps, reliable performance, and lower latency. It also includes installation and equipment in the price, making it a straightforward fiber option for eligible homes.
T-Mobile Fiber’s $70/month for 10 years offer is part of a limited-time “Fiber Founders Club” promotion available in select areas. It includes 2 Gig speeds with a long-term price lock, but it is not the standard pricing for all customers.
Yes. Existing Metronet plans transitioning under the T-Mobile Fiber network are being grandfathered, meaning current rates are expected to remain unchanged. Customers may also see the mandatory Tech Assure fee removed from their bills.
Customers also have the option to transition to current T-Mobile Fiber plans if those rates or offerings are more favorable than their existing Metronet plan.
